The Publick House-Chester, NJ

In NJ (yes....NJ you cynic) I stumbled upon this amazing and super cozy restaurant. The Publick House built in 1810 by Zephaniah Drake, this beautiful brick building served as a hotel and tavern in the heart of Chester, NJ.  Mr. Drake was a proprietor of the first line of stage coaches, making the tavern a famous Publick House and stagecoach stop between New York and west to Pennsylvania. The Publick House has the most amazing food.  The martinis, burgers, breads (made in-house) pizza are all perfection. The staff sets an amazing tone and are fun to be with. And the locals make you feel like you live there.  Chester has amazing antique shops and its a great day trip (Summer is best-but Winter is no slouch either).  Just don't drive after too many Belvedere Cosmos. Be sure to check out the beautiful people who inhabit the Publick House (PS...they have live music some nights)
